Fantastic Creatures  & RitualsEurope

Fantastic Creatures & Rituals is my ongoing photographic project—a visual journal born from my encounters with a constellation of young beings who have shaped my inner world since I moved from Argentina to Europe. Captured in cities like Paris, London, Berlin, and Lisbon, these portraits are more than images—they are mirrors. Through them, I’ve come to recognize my own shadows and light.

This series began almost subconsciously, simply as an act of documenting those who intrigued me. Only later did I understand the deeper thread running through it: a quiet ritual of self-discovery through others. These people—wild, whimsical, wounded, radiant—revealed to me something intangible yet deeply felt. In them, I found a kind of kinship, a cluster of souls that reflected parts of myself I hadn't yet fully seen.

Shot entirely on analog film, the work is raw and unfiltered. Nothing is staged or pre-produced; I photograph them as they are, in moments of stillness, rebellion, vulnerability, and transformation. Through my lens, they shift into witches, elves, sirens, and fairies—beings both earthly and transcendent. Their presence turns mundane settings into spaces of magic and meaning.

As the project has evolved, so has my gaze. When I first arrived in Lisbon, I sought joy, simplicity, and light. But as I deepened my connections and my own sense of self, my vision grew darker—in the best of ways. I began to embrace melancholy, feminine power, the beautifully chaotic, and the fantastical. What emerged was not just aesthetic, but emotional: a search for shelter in the messy tenderness of others.

Fantastic Creatures & Rituals is a tribute to that search. To the raw, mythic spirit of youth. To chosen families. To the sacred found in the overlooked. And to the quiet, alchemical ways we find ourselves reflected in those who dare to be seen.
